N° 03 — Questions
First visit
Do I need a referral from my GP?
No. You can book directly with any of our practitioners. If you are claiming on insurance, check your policy: some insurers ask for a GP referral first.
First visit
What happens at my first appointment?
We spend the first part listening, then assess how you move. We explain what we have found in plain language, start treatment the same day and give you a written plan.
First visit
What should I wear?
Something comfortable you can move in. Shorts are helpful for knee, hip and ankle problems. We have changing rooms and towels.
First visit
How many sessions will I need?
It depends on the problem, and we will give you an honest estimate at your first visit. Many people need between three and six sessions.
Fees & insurance
Is Mend covered by health insurance?
We are recognised by most major insurers, including Bupa, AXA Health, Aviva and Vitality. Bring your authorisation code and we will bill them directly.
Fees & insurance
What is your cancellation policy?
Please give us 24 hours’ notice to move or cancel. Late cancellations and missed appointments are charged in full, because someone else could have used that time.
Classes
Do I need a 1:1 before joining a class?
If you are new to Pilates or recovering from an injury, yes. A single Clinical Pilates 1:1 lets us set you up safely, and you then join the right class.
Classes
How big are the classes?
Reformer classes have a maximum of five people. Rehab and strength classes are capped at eight, so there is always time for coaching.
Classes
Do class packs expire?
Packs of five are valid for two months and packs of ten for four months. Memberships roll monthly and can be paused.
Classes
Can you treat me during pregnancy?
Yes. Inês and Mei both have specialist training in pregnancy and postnatal care, and our Pregnancy & Postnatal class runs every Thursday.
Book online in a couple of minutes. We will confirm your time by email and call if anything needs checking.
